About the Role: 

Our client, a prominent national asset in the fuel, energy and EV  sector are on the lookout for a Business Development Manager. Reporting to the GM of Technology Solutions, this is a pivotal role responsible for identifying and securing new business opportunities across the technology sector – with a focus on cloud-hosted services, point of sale, and payment systems. This role is key to diversifying into adjacent industries and building long-term partnerships with multi-site, 24/7 critical response clients nationwide.

You’ll create proposals, respond to RFPs, negotiate contracts, and engage directly with key stakeholders. Success will come from leveraging your technical knowledge, commercial acumen, and industry network. You'll be joining a collaborative and agile environment, with most corporate functions based out of Auckland and a flexible work culture that rewards performance and initiative.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Proactively identify and close new business across multiple industries
  • Develop tailored proposals and respond to RFPs with urgency and precision
  • Sell a mix of hardware, managed services, and custom cloud-based solutions
  • Work closely with internal teams including Help Desk, Field Services, and Project Delivery
  • Occasionally travel nationwide to build relationships and identify growth opportunities
  • Focus on growing the companies presence in cloud services and digital signage markets
Key Requirements:
  • Proven experience as a BDM in managed services or telecommunications
  • Deep understanding of SLAs, technical service contracts, and cloud infrastructure
  • Strong network within the NZ tech ecosystem and a history of delivering results
  • Self-starter who thrives on ownership and independence
  • Comfortable working in the field and travelling to meet prospective clients
  • Outcome-driven with excellent communication and relationship-building skills
