We’re looking for a Data Governance Specialist who enjoys being close to the work, building strong relationships, and helping organisations use data responsibly.
This is a practical, hands-on opportunity for someone who understands data governance fundamentals, knows what good looks like, and wants to help lift data maturity in a realistic, incremental way. You’ll join a growing Data, AI & Analytics team that has a clear data strategy and has already invested in tooling.
The role is designed for someone who wants to start as a specialist and grow into a lead role over time, as the function continues to mature.
Key Responsibilities:
- Working closely with data, engineering, product, security, legal, and business teams
- Embedding practical, data governance into day-to-day delivery
- Helping define and improve data ownership, quality, lineage, and access
- Supporting and evolving existing governance tooling, frameworks, and playbooks
- Contributing to data literacy initiatives, including a new training programme and communities of practice
- Supporting compliance and audit readiness in a pragmatic, delivery-focused way
- Experience in data governance, data management, data quality, data risk, or a closely related data role
- A practical understanding of governance concepts such as ownership, quality, lineage, privacy, and compliance
- Experience working closely with data engineers, analysts, or platform teams
- Comfort working in environments that are still a bit loose and fluid
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build trust across teams
- Curious and excited about data governance
