The Company
A dynamic and fast-growing organisation operating across the maintenance, engineering and construction services sector is seeking a Finance Business Partner to join their Tauranga team.

This newly created role offers the opportunity to influence key decisions, improve systems and processes, and play a pivotal role during an exciting phase of change and expansion.

About the Role
Reporting to the CFO and partnering closely with the General Manager and senior leadership team, you will provide both strategic commercial insight and hands-on financial leadership across several business units.

This role blends business partnering, planning and analysis, with operational finance responsibility, ideal for someone who enjoys being close to the detail while influencing bigger picture outcomes.
You will help drive smarter decisions, improve reporting and systems, support major projects, and lead continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Financial Partnering
  • Act as a trusted advisor to the GM and leadership team
  • Provide insights and analysis to drive performance and profitability
Planning, Reporting & Control
  • Lead month-end close, management reporting, budgeting and forecasting
  • KPI tracking and performance analysis
  • Balance sheet reconciliations and related party reporting
Cashflow & Operational Finance
  • Monitor daily cashflow and support forecasting
  • Oversee bank accounts and payment processes
Systems & Process Improvement
  • Lead finance system changes and process optimisation initiatives
  • Drive efficiencies and best-practice controls across multiple entities
Commercial & Decision Support
  • Prepare business cases, scenario modelling and financial analysis
  • Review key contracts and identify risks/opportunities
  • Support projects and group-wide initiatives
About You
  • CA / CPA / CIMA qualified (or equivalent)
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to translate financial data into actionable insights
  • Experience in multi-entity, contracting, construction, engineering or services environments advantageous
  • Comfortable operating at both strategic and hands-on levels
  • Proven experience improving systems, processes, or leading change
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Proactive, practical and solutions-focused
