You’ll bring deep technical accounting expertise, strong knowledge of NZ and Australian reporting and tax requirements and a proactive approach to systems and process improvement. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys getting into the detail, strengthening controls and ensuring the numbers – and the systems behind them – are rock-solid.

What you’ll be doing
- Coordinate, mentor and support a team of four finance professionals.
- Oversee monthly and annual financial reporting across NZ and Australia, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
- Manage the preparation of statutory financial statements and all external audit requirements.
- Oversee tax compliance, including income tax, GST, FBT and payroll-related obligations across both jurisdictions.
- Maintain and improve financial systems, controls and reconciliations to ensure data integrity and efficiency.
- Drive process and systems enhancements, working closely with IT to optimise automation, reporting and workflow accuracy.
- Manage payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable and general ledger integrity.
- Provide technical guidance on complex accounting issues and evolving compliance requirements.
- Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification.
- At least 6 years’ experience in finance or accounting, with strong exposure to technical accounting and tax compliance.
- Excellent understanding of NZ and AU accounting standards, IFRS and tax legislation.
- Proven experience improving or implementing finance systems and processes.
- Advanced Excel skills and confidence working with corporate accounting software.
- High attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy and continuous improvement.
- Effective communicator who can clearly explain technical matters to both finance and non-finance audiences.
