The Opportunity
We’re working with a well-established national business to find a capable, practical, and confident Health & Safety Advisor to support site teams across a high-risk operational environment.
This is a hands-on role for someone who thrives on being visible, building rapport, and making safety personal and relatable for all levels. You’ll be part of a supportive H&S function with strong systems and a collaborative team culture. While there is leadership available, this role needs someone who can self-manage, take initiative, and embed themselves in the day-to-day operations.
The Role
- Provide on-the-ground health and safety support across a busy, high-risk site.
- Lead and participate in audits, investigations, and risk assessments.
- Support incident reporting, toolbox talks, and ongoing team training.
- Work closely with the H&S team to uplift safety culture and performance.
We’re looking for someone who’s comfortable navigating fast-paced operational environments. You’ll need to be confident engaging with frontline teams, calm under pressure, and pragmatic in your approach. Your success in this role will come from being approachable, consistent, and action-oriented.
You’ll bring
- 3–5+ years’ experience in a similar site-based H&S role.
- Experience in high-risk industries (e.g. industrial services, infrastructure, or heavy operations)
- Solid knowledge of the Health and Safety at Work Act and relevant NZ legislation.
- Strong communication skills and the confidence to work independently when needed.
This is a rare chance to step into a role that offers autonomy, variety, and strong long-term prospects, all while being supported by a genuinely values-driven business that puts safety and people first.
If this sounds like you, we’d love to chat. Please apply via this advert with your CV and cover letter, and we’ll be in touch to discuss the next steps.
