The organisation:
This organisation provides finance solutions for NZ businesses. They're based in the Auckland CBD with some flexibility for WFH. They are NZ owned, with huge ambitions for the future. 

The role: 
Work closely with the project manager and another team member; reporting within the finance team but interacting across business units.

You'll support the PM to deliver strategic initiatives aimed at enhancing operational efficiency and optimising operational and financial processes.

You'll streamline complex business processes related to their financial transaction. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Initial Focus:  Administration, coordination, and setting up project structure, including process documentation and communication frameworks
  • Project Delivery:  Support the transition from manual, spreadsheet-driven processes to project management software and digital workflows
  • Change Facilitation:  Act as a “mini change manager,” fostering adoption of new systems and communicating benefits to stakeholders
  • Process Analysis:  Observe, document, and formalize existing informal processes; build documentation libraries
  • Stakeholder Engagement:  Build cross-department relationships, facilitate communication, and advocate for customer-centric improvements
Projects & Business Context
  • Transformation Agenda:  Moving to digital customer portals, automating legacy processes, and improving IT architecture
  • Pipeline:  Multiple technical and customer-impacting projects; goal to establish a “mini project office” for work prioritization
  • Team Dynamics:  Small, collaborative team with strong leadership support; emphasis on relationship-building and customer impact
  • Culture:  Entrepreneurial, growth-focused, supportive of learning and development; expects initiative and resilience
The ideal person:
  • Experience:  Entry-level; some exposure to project delivery or coordination, ideally in financial services or similar environments
  • Skills:  Strong communication, curiosity, analytical thinking, ability to ask clarifying questions, basic understanding of project lifecycles and requirements gathering
  • Personality:  Energetic, self-starter, open to coaching, adaptable, comfortable with less structure, thriving in fast-paced environments
  • Attitude:  Willing to learn, proactive, constructively challenging, able to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders
