Our Client and the Role:

Our client is one of New Zealand's biggest FMCG's. They are looking for a Senior Power BI Developer, sitting within the Commercial team. The focus of this role is building and evolving reporting tools to monitor category performance. Our client is seeking someone experienced in Power BI, confident mentoring junior developers, and able to work with engineers on cloud data integration. 
 
Key Responsibilities:

• Design and build visually effective Power BI dashboards and data models tailored to business needs.
• Develop scalable models using DAX and run SQL queries for ETL processes.
• Collaborate with data engineers to optimise dataflows and ensure efficient data structures.
• Maintain documentation and perform data quality checks to ensure accuracy and consistency.
• Work closely with the merchandise team to translate reporting needs into actionable BI solutions.
• Mentor junior developers and promote best practices in Power BI.

• Strong Power BI development skills, including data modelling, DAX, Power Query, and visualisation.
• Proficient in SQL with experience in relational databases and data warehousing.
• Familiar with ETL tools and building data pipelines.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a focus on optimising BI solutions.
• Excellent communicator and team player with the ability to work independently.
• Well-organised, able to manage multiple projects effectively.
• Relevant tertiary qualification in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
