Our client is a leading Tier 1 civil infrastructure contractor delivering complex projects across New Zealand as part of a globally recognised construction group. With a strong pipeline of structural work secured, they are seeking experienced Senior Site Engineers to join their Structures division in Christchurch and Picton.
Christchurch opportunities include major bridge and concrete infrastructure works. The Picton roles will support the landmark Ferry Redevelopment Project, delivering significant marine and port infrastructure upgrades.
The Role
Working closely with Project Managers, the Senior Site Engineer will provide technical and operational support across large-scale structural projects. The role will involve programming, procurement, subcontractor coordination, quality assurance, site engineering, and ensuring safe and efficient project delivery.
This opportunity will suit degree-qualified Civil Engineers with strong structural construction experience and a passion for delivering technically challenging infrastructure projects.
What You’ll Do
- Deliver structural and civil works across major infrastructure projects.
- Coordinate subcontractors, procurement, QA, and site activities.
- Support programming, methodologies, and project delivery outcomes.
- Lead safe work practices and champion quality on site.
- Assist with variations, planning, and project documentation.
- Civil Engineering degree qualification.
- Minimum 5+ years’ experience in structural or heavy civil construction.
- Experience across bridges, marine, water, concrete, or infrastructure projects.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to lead site activities and work collaboratively with project teams.
- Marine experience highly regarded for Picton opportunities
